Since 1993 we’ve been making our Milk Bottle Tops right here in the UK.

At Milk Bottle Tops minimising our environmental footprint is a key mission:

  • We source and manufacture here in the UK from 100% recyclable materials, using zero air or sea freight miles.
  • We manufacture, pick, and pack in Nottinghamshire, supporting local businesses and workers with jobs – and have done for 30 years!
  • We use materials that are 100% recyclable in kerbside waste collections!

Made from 100% recyclable plastic since day 1, they're an environmentally conscious choice for the discerning milk drinker!

Wait, what? Environmentally conscious? But it’s plastic!!!

That’s right! LDPE (Low Density PolyEthylene) is a lightweight plastic that’s the right material for this job!

Like silicone, it's BPA-free, fridge-friendly, safe for daily food usage, and dish-washer compatible for easy cleaning!

We’ve been keeping milk fresh, and fridges spill-free since 1993!

Scroll down for our top 3 reasons for using LDPE in our Milk Bottle Tops

1 – Milk Bottle Tops are made from 100% recyclable material – sustainability is at our core.

LDPE can be recycled over and over again. Glass bottles last on average 30-40 times before recyling - our Milk Bottle Tops will do the same.

LDPE is not the only solution for items like our Milk Bottle Tops.

Some of our competitors use Silicone in their products, which is a different type of material completely.

An ideal choice for a space-shuttle valve seal, but not the best one for a milk bottle top.

2 - LDPE has a low energy cost to produce.

Especially when you consider we source already recycled materials from UK suppliers.

Silicone’s manufacture and transportation uses over 7X more energy than our UK-made Milk Bottle Tops!

Size for size, Silicone is HEAVY!

Almost twice as heavy as LDPE – which adds to the fuel used to transport it across the globe!

That energy footprint continues to expand when looking at recycling the two materials…

3 - When it comes to recycling – LDPE can be put into your kerbside bins and recycled by your local council, it is the very opposite of a single use plastic!

Unfortunately Silicone’s a different beast completely!

It’s hard to recycle, energy intensive specialist facilities need 3x more power to do so.

Most councils simply don’t offer it as a service, and those facilities are hard to find!

Meaning Silicone is more likely to be binned and thrown on the tip – where it won’t break down for over 500 years.

Our Milk Bottle Tops really do bring so many advantages to your breakfast table and morning brew!

Yes, you are keeping your milk fresh, and your fridge spill free, but more than that - every time you purchase a Milk Bottle Top for your glass milk bottles you are reducing overall plastic waste in the UK, cutting down on single-use plastics, and helping support a network of UK-based small businesses who are proud to be making in the UK. Thank you!
